  1. Black Bear Hamsters!

A wire cage is best, the bigger the better.

Make sure to provide him or her with lots of chew toys.

  2. i'd say dwarf hamsters because they are very social and can usually live in groups. and they are so cute.

a good cage for them would be aquariums and tubs because they can sqeeze through very small spaces. if u get a wire cage for them make sure the spacing is small

  3. I know that hamsters bite...maybe you should get a guinea pig

  4. My favorite are the Syrian hamsters (teddy Bear hamsters)

I had 2 of them, and both of them were very friendly. They never bit anybody. And they were very intelligent.

As for cages, it's really your choice. As long as it doesn't say it's made for dwarf hamsters or mice, you'll be fine. Tube cages are harder to clean because there are a lot of small parts. They do look pretty though. Plaid cages, wire top, plastic bottom are easy to clean, and they are harder for the hamster to escape from!!

  5. I love the dwarves as they can live in communities and if you get a cage with tubes will climb, I also had a dwarf that never bit anyone and it was 4 years old

  6. The best breed in hamsters is the syrian hamster. There are many types of syrians such as teddy bears and panda bears. Syrian hamsters are the most friendly cuddly and sweet hamsters around. Dwarfs are fun to but they arent as sweet and cuddly and some of them bite. When a syrian bites it feels so gentle and you will never bleed. I have 2 syrians and a dwarf and in my opinion the syrian is the best.

Hope you can get a syrian

  7. I have a Chinese dwarf hamster and he is so friendly! I would def. suggest one to you! Hes so small, and not jumpy at all. I got a starter cage for him from pet smart and it works great for him (the wheel is very squeaky though)!

  8. I just recently had a hamster that lived almost two years.

She was a panda bear hamster, and we got her at Petsmart, I dont know what pet stores are in whatever area you are in, but don't go to PetCo. every hamster I have known gotten from there has died within a couple of weeks.

I have known dwarf hamsters to be more aggresive, and to bite more.. my hammy, only bit someone once, my younger brother who was messing around in her cage when she was asleep during the first week.

  9. I Answered!

I prefer Robo Hamsters. They are the cutest, fastest, smallest hamsters of all! They don't eat or p**p much so easy to care for.  All you need to do is change their water every day and hold them and pet them. Pet they over the cage because they will jump from very high places! They love to hang in papertowl rolls. They sleep during the day and are up at night so if they bug you put the cage in the bathroom or the closet so they would keep you up. (they do make some noise at night) Thats about it! They take a while to get used to you like every other pet. Oh yeah! They have bad eye sight so when you pick them up say their name softly to them befor you touch them to they know your there! Thats it I promise!  Other than they're really fun!

  10. It doesn't really matter what breed, but my personal fav is the dwarf hamster. they dont sleep as much and are fairly nice. just make sure when you go to get it that you play with all the hamsters and decide which on has the best temperament.

  11. my favorite that i have ever had was a teddy bear hamster. <3 he behaved so well. and he is big enough to hold comfortably. they are the nicest ones.

but whatever you do, dont get a dwarf. those are so small and fast and mean you cant hold them! :P

a 10 gallon aquarium is enough, but really you can get whatever kind of cage you like.

---> but now i have a guinea pig, and i really prefer them over hamsters. just saying.
