  3. Make sure not to let them get into any wild cherry. They are toxic to cattle.

  4. No hedge is really safe because if a cow is hungry she will still eat parts of it! Best to fence hedge to keep animals away because if you don't 1 day they will escape and you will have to chase them!

  6. i know they hate really prickly ones because it hurts there mouth and do not let them eat poison ones it can kill them or make them badly sick

  7. They avoid thorns so privet, hawthorn and similar plants are good choices.

  8. Many British hedges are Blackthorn.  But they need to be laid - i.e. woven - in order to make a livestock proof barrier.
