Question:

What type of highlights do I need?

I'm having highlights put in for the first time next month for my 15th birthday and i'm not really sure what to get done. I thought I could just go to the salon and ask for some highlights but its so confusing!

I have light brown hair, its thick and layered. I want highlights just a shade or so lighter than what I have now - but I don't want it to look streaky!

Do I want foils(?) or something else?

Advice please!

  1. When they do your hair, foils is just what they use. You will inevetably have them.

just ask for subtle highlights, all the way through your hair not just the crown ( on the top ) because when you just get the crown done it looks all streaky

  2. just have them highlighted from any parlor... it would look good... u can use blond or light brown which would give you a light shaded look...try it...i hope i adviced u well

  3. yes u want foils it makes it look lighter and not so bold for darker hair bold is okay but not for u okay so light brown hair u need dishwater blonde it will make u look so twinkly and when they start to fade away in about 1-2 months dont get new ones until there about two inches from the top of ur roots it will save u money
