What type of id is needed to travel in canada.

I want to fly from ontario to alberta, what type of id do you need in order to do this?

You are flying within Canada so it is the flight that you will need the ID  If you are renting a car, you may need the same ID requirements.  However travelling on the whole though Canada from with in Canada you will be pretty free.  So have fun with it.

You will need some form of government issued photo id showing name, gender and birth date ( ex drivers license) to fly with in Canada.

If you do not have a photo id you will need 2 pieces of government issued id showing your name,  gender, and birth date on at least one of them: ex health card and social insurance card, or health card and birth certificate.
