What type of irons? Ping G10 or Callaway X-20?

I'm going to buy some new irons this spring. What kind should I get? The Ping G10s or the Callaway X-20s?

depending on your handicap the Ping's are better if your above a 12. callaway if less. Also if you want to feel powerful the Callaway's are longer clubs meaning you'll hit those irons farther club for club.

First, have you tried hitting them in a store?  If not, I would strongly suggest doing that.  Golf Galaxy and others have people who can help get you fit, for example Ping has several lie angles (blue, black, white, red, etc.)

I love Pings, and they would be my first choice.  G10, G5, I5, Rapture.  But they not be the best until you see how they work for you, and get the right version for your game.

The Callaway X-20 are more forgiving. You should also look at Adams and Mezudo. Good luck with whatever you choose!

if you shoot 85 or higher on 18 holes, go with Cleveland Hi-bore irons. It will change your life. If you score less than 85 titlist would be the best choice.

Ping's are more forgiving. Make sure you get properly fitted clubs for your swing and stance. You just don't walk in and grab a set of Pings off the wall.

Some clubs and golf stores demo clubs, you should look into that.  I have both Calloway and Ping and they play differently from each other, it's all really about the feel you like and how well you hit them.  At the very least, you should try them out at the store's driving net, see which of the 2 feels right for your swing and level of play.
