  1. Well as long as you have 14 clubs or under you can have anything you want, but I would suggest as a beginner you should have hybrid clubs for your long irons, then have a 5-9 iron.

  2. a beginner would do well to purchase a set of irons ranging from pitching wedge to 4 iron.  Even 4 iron might be asking a lot for a beginner to hit. With the advent of hybrid clubs, it might make sense for a beginner to get pitching wedge through 5 iron and carry 4-5 woods/hybrids. Say, a driver, 3 wood, 5, and seven. of course, all golfers should carry a sand wedge. Remember, USGA rules allow 14 clubs to a bag.

  3. Callaway X20's spend the money now not later

  4. buy a cheap used iron and driver set.Dont waste your money on a new set, just get it if you actually start playing. If you have a relative who does play golf but is willing to give a few clubs, do that.

  5. Just go to Wal-Mart and get a set since you're a beginner.  Once you get the basics of the game down, you can invest in a better manufacturer's product.

  6. it pretty much depends on your budget, if your hurtin for money go with what the guy below said, if you have some extra case go for some really forgiving offset irons like some nickents, any driver with a regular shaft, any putter, any wedges without a ton of bounce(u dont really need bounce 2 much), go with some fairway woods with regular shafts, but like i said it depends on your budget

  7. go to costco and buy the Jacl Nicklaus set for $250. you get bag, putter, hybrids, irons, fairway woods, and driver. all you'll need for a few years. good luck.
