What type of laptop should i get?

Question

I need a laptop for my pictures, videos and stories.

My &ss hole brother keeps delineating my accounts

and all my pictures ect.

So i now have his 2 day old PSP as a hostage

I prefer windows to vista, and i have a budget of about $300

I don't need a big screen or anything but it needs to have enough space for lots of pictures ect. and ill need a wifi connector

I don't know a lot about about computers so if you got and

ideas of what model type ect. i should get or tips for finding

a good laptop and not getting ripped off, I'd love the help.

Truthfully, a $300 dollar budget won't get you far, laptop wise. I am not a computer expert either. You probably want to look for a Dell, Sony, Toshiba, or HP laptop. Try to stay away from Compaq, E-Machine, and Gateway. They are okay brands, but the brands I listed first are a lot better. Mac Computers are suppose to be great brands. Yet, they are outrageously expensive. Most laptops do come with Windows Vista.

Spec wise, you will want something with at least 2GB DDR2 Memory. (The more, the better. Example: 3GB is better than 2GB. 4GB is better than 3GB, etc.) Since you want to hold a lot of pictures and videos, I would go with at least a 250GB Hard drive. (Again, the more the better.) Try in between 250GB - 500GB. Nowadays, most laptops have a wireless card. Wireless-N Technology is the top of the line and fastest. Wireless-G is second best. Then it's Wireless-B.

In my opinion, if you are going to invest your money into a laptop, you might as well spend the money to get a good one. If you're heart isn't set on a laptop, consider buying a desktop. Most of the time, they are cheaper and you get better specs. (Some can go up to 6GB DDR2 and 700GB Hard drive) Again, most desktops come with Windows Vista. A few come with wireless. You may need to buy a wireless card for the desktop.

Well I would get a Macbook if you wanted a Great all around computer i just got mine and it is so much better than PCs but if you want one in your budget get a dell i suppose!
