  1. Cant say about the UK Marines, but in the Army we were told, head down and keep swinging (windmilling I think they called it)

If your in a scrap you will get hurt, its just up to you to hurt the other bloke more than he hurts you

If that dont work, look for a handy peice of wood or a brick  AND if they dont work...................RUN

  2. The don't use a specific martial art i asked one of the guys at a show. hwe said they developed it from ww2. But most of the moves look like they are based on ju-jitsu but it is really just a self defence system in combat.

  3. I served for six years in the Marines. The martial art they are training in is just normal Army Combative training. That said while I was in training, we had various instructors coming through for small courses. This included Hap-ki-do and some Muay Thai. I was a martial artist anyway so it was a bit vanilla for me. I'd agree with the previous poster though as it is very old hat. They did a review in the 1980's along with the Army but nothing much changed.

There are lots of small clubs in the various sections though where you can join martial arts classes such as Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan, Judo and recently BJJ.  Most Marine are fitness fanatics though and will take whatever training they can get.
