Question:

What type of material is good for building sub boxes?

I was just wondering what type of wood would best suit a sub box? I found plenty of site with info on how to build them (i already know how -.-;) i just want to know which material harnesses the best sound.

  1. 3/4" MDF partical board.

Like the other guy said 3/4" MDF partical board because i have 2 15s and with just half an inch MDF i broke the box.If you really wanna be say build your box and then take it to one of those truck shops and get it sprayed with that bed liner. Mine is like that an man it an never gonna break.Hope that helps.

  4. 3/4 MDF is the "standard" although heavier subs or long spans on the width of the box may dictate you go thicker or change material, but if everything is normal, the MDF should be cool.
