It depends on what you like ie war planes or civil aircraft. there are many manufactures around, the best thing for you to do is visit your local model shop & have a look & ask their advice.

Unfortunately you have given insufficient information:- static model, free flight, control-line, radio controlled... If you are looking at radio controlled, my hobby for over forty years, you need to join a local club, and the British Model Flying Association, (for insurance purposes), and getting advice from them both. Your initial 'plane should be a good quality, high wing, trainer. By joining a local club, you have access to a lot of advice regarding building, radio installation, setting up and flying. Don't go it alone. You will be disappointed.
