  1. the Euro

  2. In Europe the Euro is the currency (except in Switzerland where they accept the Euro but give change in Swiss Francs). and if you reckon 1 Euro = 68pence you won't be so far out in costing items.

  3. I don't know if it is still true but it used to be cheaper to use your credit card to pay in France as the CC companies exchange rate was more advantageous. You may want to check with your CC company. But still take some Euros with you as there still plenty of smaller places that don't take credit cards.

And if you know your credit card pin # you can get cash from ATMs. At least, I did.

  4. Of course, everywhere in France, the money is Euro.

    Impossible to pay with Francs.

Maybe some great hotels or restaurants accept to be paid in dollars.

Anyway, you can pay with your credit card visa or american express...but in euros, and the amount will be converted in your money when arriving on your account.

  5. The Euro  ( symbol : € )

Everywhere in France we have the same money, the Euro (that replaced the Franc in 2002), and now more it's the same money in most of the countries of European Union :

Germany , Austria , Belgium , Spain , Finland , France , Greece , Ireland , Italia , Luxembourg , Netherlands , Portugal , Slovenia (also in Monaco, Vatican city, San Marino, Andorra, Kosovo and Montenegro)

At that day (May 21st 2007) the rate change is :

          1 € = 1.3448 $

          1$ = 0,7436 €

  6. Lol.

    The euro.

What would you say if I asked "what kind of money do they use in Texas?".

  7. perhaps the euro or the franc, if its still exists.

  8. Is there a high school in US?? You should learn that there

  9. The euro, the new single European currency, became the official currency of France and 11 other participating countries on January 1, 1999.

The euro didn't go into general circulation until January 1, 2002. The old currency, the French franc, disappeared into history on March 1, 2002, replaced by the euro, which is officially abbreviated as "EUR," or €. Exchange rates of participating countries are locked into a common currency fluctuating against the dollar.

For more details on the euro, check out www.europa.eu.int/euro.
