What type of mosquito has long legs and moves slow?

i was out tanning ealier when a large mosquito jumped on me. it moved very slow as to almost not at all. i swear it looked like it had 8 legs but i wasnt wearingn my glasses. all i know is that it had 4 very long legs that were about 2 inches long and it looked like it had 4 smaller legs that looked about 1 inch long. its body was about an inch and it looked like it had a stinger on its end. if anyone knows anything about mo's or can find a top picture of one, that would help.

I think you're talking about a mosquito hawk. They eat

mosquitos.
