What type of moth is this?

Question

We saw this moth in Cornwall this July:

If anyone can tell me what type it is i'd be grateful as it wasn't in our wildlife book. It was pretty big and we saw it in the daytime if this helps. Thanks very much

It is called a Poplar Hawk Moth. See in the UK.
