  1. well i have never really done it before, but i think i am going to start!!! thats such a great idea!! i will probably listen to country since that is my favorite!

  2. I solely do trailriding. I do not listen to music, just the sounds around me. Doesn't seem safe to be distracted by music anyway.

  3. well at my barn, we have speakers throughout the barn and we play the radio (country) all day. so i guess i ride to music when im inside (no speakers outside the barn). but when i get my own horse ill still listen to country... its just what i like.

either country or christian.. but for riding it will probably be country cuz thats what im use to hearing when i ride

  4. depends on what im doing.. if i am jumping or doing speed i go with more upbeat rock/techno/pop songs... but when i need to keep it slow, i try playing more relaxed songs of the same variety.. or something with a defineate beat to post to or ride with..

  5. My instructor has speakers in the indoor school, and works her dressage horses to classical...some of them enjoy it and get really into the tempo.Every now and again, we stick on a rock CD, or pop..and have fun !. The owner of yard where I kept my last horse  listened to the radio in the stables, very loud all day long..it used to be deafening and drive people mad. It was only when she went home, you could hear the horses breathe a sigh of relief and visibily relax :o)

  6. When I rode with music, I listened to punk and ska mostly.  It makes for interesting dressage :)

  7. when I rode with my appendix we listened to rock, punk, pop, and a small bit of country. . . my trainer said she could tell when a song came on that we liked, because we looked and moved better. lol

I rode english too, and if you cant keep a beat then you shouldnt ride, hehe...some people just take themselves alittle too serious.  I guess all those dressage riders that ride to music are bad riders too huh?

  8. I love listening to my ipod while I am riding.  I have an incredible mix of styles in it.  Hip hop, r&b, country, pop, rap, rock...  When I am going for a gallop I like to pull up a hard hitting rap or rock song.  I love doing trot/canter transitions to Korns, "Children of the korn" song.  Much fun!  Sometimes I will collect my horse to match tempo with slower songs.  I dont know why I ever rode without my ipod!

  9. WOW i dint know so many couldn't ride and listen to music at the same time!!!!  I listen to allot of classical if I'm working dressage. but mostly country. old rock and old country when I'm just working or riding.

If I'm on a trail i use only one ear bud.

  10. I don't listen to music when i'm riding because I lose focus.

  11. i dont listen to my ipod while riding...i need to be focusing on my horse and not what song is playing. =S

  12. I've done some simple drills to music, and they were always rap. Ick.

But when I ride, I don't listen to music, I listen to my horse. I need to focus on him. Not my ipod.
