  1. viscosity isn't as important as additives. Make sure the oil is compatible with the bike if it has a wet clutch. Synthetics and some petrol based oils have friction inhibitors that will send a clutch OTL (out to lunch) on a wet clutch system. Honda recommends a 10W30 type SG oil for their bikes in 2008. I buy mine from the dealer because it meets all recommendations of Honda. Twice the price but I know that if my clutch goes OTL I can prove I used their oils.

  2. I've been riding motorcycles for over 20 years, and in all by bikes I've used 10w40 even in my 2003 Kaw. 1600cc they say to use 10w40
