  1. From the owners handbook, Renault recommend elf oils. For the diesel it specs

    Elf Competition Diesel 10w40

    Elf Turbo Diesel 15w40

    Elf Prestigrade Diesel 15w40

    Or from the Haynes manual

    Duckhams Hypergrade Diesel 15w40

    Duckhams QXR Premium Diesel 15w40

Or from my personal experience, on a 10 year old car with average mileage, just pop down to Halfords and get a can of their own brand 15w40 diesel engine oil. Perfectly adequate for everyday driving.

  2. 5w30

  3. Oil that lasts.

A 4 cyl heavy duty multigrade, 10W30 due to your presumably warmer climate, high engine temp and performance.

I recommend Castrol GTX high mileage and a bottle of Lucas Oil stabilizer.  Some say expensive?  Not at all, and your car is always worth it.

I have many cars and that is all I use, plus the occasional 'other' brand as a control or experimantal comparison.  But Castrol/Lucas are the right combo.

  4. RENAULT exclusively recommends the usage of ELF lubricants.
