I have a 2002 MZ 125 SM. I have no manual. What type of oil should I use? I tried to change the oil and it looked very thin coming out. I switched with new 10W40 and it starts and runs but the clutch will not engage. When I shift into first it just dies and seems like the clutch isn't s functional. It was running perfectly before the oil change.

  1. Did you use a synthetic instead of conventional oil?  Synthetic is too slick for older style clutch plates.

  2. MZ says use:

    1.2 L (just a bit over 1 quart)

    15w50

    15w40

    10w40

       API Grade SG/SH

    So 10w40 is  OK

    The Clutch is a mystery

I cant imagine how simply changing the oil would have such an immediate effect.

Make certain clutch is adjust right is about the only suggestion I can offer
