  1. All oils have fat...the healthier varieties will not make you fat however. I use olive oil on salads and breads and such and grapeseed oil to cook.

  2. All oil is FAT, but there are Good Fats. Olive Oil is a easy to find one. Just use it in moderation.

  3. I just watched CNN’s  international Channel(3pm EST), breaking  the news that oil price spikes again.  But the anchor and the reporter assert it is China’s diesel demand contributed to the hike.

Waited a sec !  It is already THIRD time I am hearing CNN’s assertion of China’s diesel demand. The first time was about two weeks ago. What’s going on?

Then, Israel’s-Iran-attack-drill news flashing back-------Which Was Just Happened This Morning !  That “unmistakable signal”  is surely an act to have a consequence of  oil supply disruption !  Why is it not reported as a oil spiking cause ? !

Time to scapegoat China again before a major offensive ? To verify, I went to CNN web site , there it is :

    China hikes fuel prices http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/20/news/int...

    China to raise energy prices

    http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/19/news/int...

But  nowhere saying that Israel’s-Iran-attack-drill  will unstablize the oil supply region, causing the oil  price up.

  4. All oil is fat, and all fat has the same number of calories per fat gram.

That said, you should avoid saturated fats (they come from animals).

In general, of plant fats, it is said:

Olive oil and canola oil are among the "best" fats.

Corn and peanut oil are among the "worst" fats.

  5. Olive oil is a fat, but I wouldn't call it fattening.  Olive oil (mainly monounsaturated fat) is good for your health as long as you don't eat so much that you consume more calories per day than you should.

If you want something that isn't fattening at all, use regular yellow mustard.  Regular mustard has only 5 calories per serving and 0 grams of fat.

  6. Non-fat oil is an oxymoron.  All oils have fat.  100% of the calories(energy) they give your body comes from fat.  However, there are certain oils that are heart healthy versus heart hazardous.

Nut oils and olive oil are known  to be the best for your heart overall.

Palm oil is notorious for being bad for your heart and well-being.

  7. some are healthy, ALL are fattening, it is ALL fat, there's no escaping that. however, I would recommend olive oil or canola oil.

all fats are 9 calories per gram, good and bad
