What type of oil should go into a 1995 honda shadow?

I Just started riding and working on my 1995 Honda Shadow and was wondering what oil weight to put in also is there a special oil type for motorcycles or is it the same as for cars? ~Thanks!~

Just don't use any oil that says "Energy Conserving" on the back of the bottle. Most any oil that's at least 10w-40 will not be energy conserving. I use Valvoline motorcycle oil in my Honda Magna.  Alot of people swear by "Shell Rotella" 15w-40. You can buy it at Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks a gallon.
