My walls in my house are typical with no special needs. There are so many kinds of paint at the store and I don't know which to get.

  1. You shouldn't need a primer as long as you are not trying to cover a darker paint with a significantly lighter color.  No need for a finishing coat either.  Good luck and enjoy the new look.

  2. get a flat wall paint with a 250 sq ft coverage per gal....good brand will cost about $ 21.00 per gal

    lic. gen. contractor

  3. sherwin williams from home depot

  4. Flat tinish Latex is the easiest to work with.

  5. The Behr brand of paint sold at Home Depot provides excellent coverage and they have tons of colors as well as brochures on faux finishes and what colors coordinate well.

Glossy or Semi-gloss: Bathrooms, Kitchens, and areas that will require cleaning the walls often (like a kid's room or playroom). Also for doors.

Eggshell or Flat: All other common rooms and bedrooms.

Semi-gloss or Satin: Woodwork and trim (baseboards & windows). Some people also prefer Satin for doors.

    Have fun!! : D
