What type of paint should I use?

I am going to paint a mural on a wall in my house. I drew it out and everything, but I am not sure what type of paint to use. I have a bunch of Acrylics, but I am not sure if they will stay on the wall. I would really like to avoid buying regular wall paints, because I need many colors, but not a whole bucket of them! Thanks!

I am partial to acrylics.  That is what I do all of my painting with.  I don't do murals but I do faux painting.

most house paints are acrylic anyway.. if you dont have enough of the colors you need just buy small quart cans.  If you worry about it being scuffed or wearing off then apply a clear acrylic cover coat afterwards

Oil paint will do prefectly but its quite expensive, it wont come out will take time to dry but will be very pretty,,otherwise do use your acrylics itself, it will have mostly same effects.. but dont use wall paints, cause it can crack easily with weather conditions and also if it is a water base they painting wont become as beautiful as an oil painting or an acrylic ones.. wall paints tends to become mate...

If you aren't sure how acrylics would stay on your wall, do a test patch first and see. Acrylics usually work just fine, though

I answered your last question. If you have Acrylics and want to use them then go ahead, just be aware of weather conditions, artists acrylics tend to dry slower so if it rains it's going to be bad and you will need something to cover the paint after to protect it.

If you do decide to use house paints, they can mix up the colours you want as well as getting smaller tins.

Acrylics were desigened for the kind of work you are talking about. They will work best. Just be sure the wall is prepped in some way - i.e. if the wall has a gloss or sheen texture you may need to either sand it down, or apply a primer.

you can use wall paint. if you go to certain paint stores you can get little buckets of paint. I think they are called paint pods...lol something like that. they arent in a big bucket or anything.
