What type of paint to use when painting wine glasses and martini glasses.

i used acrylic and it didnt go on very smooth. looked clumpy and it was new paint.

acrylic with a hint of a pencils touch. mix them until you get a perfect blend(the acrylic paint i mean)

You should use glass paint found at a craft store.  The glasses also need to be cleaned in a specific way.  Instructions should come with the glass paint.

Can  you just wash the old paint off and start over?
