  1. Rent out a Roller Rink and play all the music from all the era's, 60's, 70's & 80's.

  2. she lived with that music though. i think it would be more fun to throw her back somewhere she'd never been. liek a thirties party, make her feel really old, lol. but it could be fun with flappers dresses and such.

but if you want to stick with that do eighties. she was too young to remember much from the 70s. she was a teen in the 80s, and thats when most of us hear our favorite music.

  3. WOODSTOCK

  4. well in 1978 the person would of been 10 in 1988 the person would have been 20 and going out clubbing.

    they would remember that best

  5. lordy lordy look who's forty

70's and 80's music would be more fitting.

  6. 70's or even 80's she would have been a teen around that kind of time so look through her record collection and see what she likes and go from there. Good luck :)

  7. I have daughters born in 1971 and 1973.  The older one always loved the Beatles and Elvis, even though it was "before her time", but she listened to the Arrythmics, George Michael, Bananarama when she was a teenager.  The other daughter always really liked Fleetwood Mac, especially Stevie Nicks, and still does- and Enya ....  so it would depend what her taste is.  Both daughters grew up listening to country music too, and have always loved John Denver, Bobby Bare, George Strait, Tanya Tucker, and now Reba, Faith Hill and the newer stars.......

  8. 70's because she probably won't remember the 60's.

  9. 70's music and 80's music. Some mid to late 70's music is good but, honestly, I would stick with 80's music. I was born in 69 and I grew up mostly in the 80's.

Throw and 80's style party and have 80's type themes there, find out from relatives what your mom's favorite group is. Watch VH1's I love the 80's specials to get ideas about the era.  Go to their web site or Google it.

  10. your moms best years were most likely during her highshcool years so it would be great to use the music of those 80's years . do you have 80's movies you know she loves? use one or two to help you create a theme for your party. as far as food goes go with all her favorites ....I really love chocolate..so all different kind of chocolate candy cake etc I also love Italian food so small scale her favorites and serve them up like I love ravioli so small baked ravioli  on skewers with a pasta dish and mini garlic breads... just take the best of what she loves and do what you can afford. also do you have some great pics of your mom during the era you plan.. have a couple blown up for fun.

  11. I was born in 66' and I grew up with both 60's and 70's music and they are still my fav's!  What "style" music does she like?  Once you know this it will be easy to figure out which theme.  But you most likely will be able to combine both as the mid to late 60's music rolled right into the 70's.  When I was growing up my mom was more the Motown chick and my Pop was more the hippie dude....music and style....Fish around and pick your mom's brain for what she more into when she was growing up.

  12. i just had my dads 40th. 70's is better coz thats when they grew up!

  13. Late 70's to early 80's for sure.  right down to what you have on television.

  14. some 70's, mostly 80's

  15. i thinks 60's because she was born in the 60's and it's sort of easy to do the 60's...u could watch Hairspray to get an idea of how things were in the 60's

  16. Definately 70's music!  60's is too far back although you could throw in some Motown.

    Party on MOM"Z
