  1. Paleontologists. Archaeologists don't generally look for evidence of evolution.

  2. Paleontologists.

  3. Paleontologists, Paleobotanists, Geologists, Geochemists, Archaeologists, Evolutionary Biologists, Biological Anthropologists, and various other quality nerds.

  4. geneticist?

  5. archaeologists,sociologists, evolutionary biologist.

  6. Certain types of anthropologists, leave us archaeologists out of it. (For the most part.) We're concerned with culture, which arguably lead to the end for the need in human evolution (as one theory goes) because it allowed us to adapt without changing our genetic makeup. Our cultures became more of a selector for Darwinian success than our environment. (There is evidence to show this is not as clear-cut as some would like to think, but hey I'm not writing a book here).

In answer to your question, outside of anthropology plenty of people would be evolved in research, but mostly paleo-(insert a field/sub-field here) would be the ones digging. Your biologists/geologists, etc. They're the ones that usually run sites looking for fossil remains of animals, and depending on the size of their dig they may have room for more special zed scientists like geneticists. In general though a site works by having a couple of people interested in the biology (like a biologist and a biological anthropologist) having there digging helped out by people that understand the material they are digging through or dating process (i.e. geologists, etc). I don't think you'll find to many sociologists or psychologists out in the Sahara "sweeping sand." Somebody let me know if I' wrong about that, but I don't think the poor lads/lasses are up to it physically. (Joking)

  7. archaeologists... and probably the people that are connected to history or biology.
