What type of pipe can I use on my boiler to feed the heating zones?

I need to build a three port manifold after the expansion tank. There will be three Taco Zone Valves that I need to connect and I am unsure of what type of pipe I can use. Black Iron, Galvanized,etc.

If it's hot water, you can use PEX with the O2 barrier.

But I have to ask - with all due respect - if you aren't sure about what pipe to use, don't you think there might be some other gotchas that are gonna getcha?
