  1. What do you want to do with it?

Do you have a pilot license?

  2. Baron von Party:  500mph from a Mustang?  Not a chance!

The top speed for a Mustang is unlikely to top 420mph, and that is pushing it hard in level flight.

    My answer

Depends on what you want it for, and whether you can fly a multi, and what performance you are prepared to pay for.

Normal range is probably going to be between 1000 and 3000 miles, depending on the aircraft.

You need to give more information.

  3. Waaahl I'd git a P51 Mustang. Thas jus a single prop job, will go 500 easy and about a thousan miles lessen ya git a couple a drop tanks, then ya can git all the way ta Berlin on 'er! Yee haa! I wouldn' go git some twin engine plane on a'counna yer frein's'll all be callin ya a candy -assed bomber pilot, an that'll make ya feel like 2 cents real fas', an fer a nickle you'd jus go back home!

  4. Twin: I like the Beech Baron 58-P. This is a pressurized, de-iced twin that seats six. It will go a little over 200 kts, has a service ceiling of 25,000 feet, and will go about 800 nm with plenty of reserve.

I can't give you a recommendation for a single without more info.  I can recommend the Baron because your choices are more limited and it's pretty easy to argue for pressurization and known-ice certification and that narrows things down pretty fast.

The good news is they're cheap right now.

  5. I would make sure it had wings and landing gear as well as engines. Of course, that's just my opinion...

Oh. and it should go 400 kph, for at least 2000 nm, at 29,000 feet.

    You're welcome!!!
