What type of plant is this? Curly leaves...?

Question

I just bought a house plan that is kind of like a tree in that the stalk is quite sturdy and almost has a 'bark' feel to it. The leaves are a shiney green, and instead of growing flat, they curl up into a perfectly enclosed circle. The tag on the plant just says Tropical Plant, but I would love to know what kind it is.
