What type of pleco is this?

I got him yesterday, he is about 3 inch and was told he will get aorund 7 inch, he is black, a long finned type and has small spots.

It begins with "A" , i need this as i have forgeooten already.

Probably an Ancistrus species, one of the so called bristle nose catfish.  Goggle search for more info.

Based on the description, I believe he is a bristlenose pleco, genus Ancistrus, usually grows around five inches but can reach a maximum of 7 inches. Very efficient algae eater and I believe you have a long-finned variety. Try to search "bristlenose pleco" and see if it is.

Can you post a picture.. there are over 500 species of pleco, we can guess better with a picture.
