What type of polish and/or sealant would you recommend for a Brilliant Black Charger?

So until today, I never really thought much about polishing or sealants.

It was always wash-wax or wash-claybar-wax.

The more I've read, the more it seems like the way to go is:

Wash-Claybar-Polish-Sealant-Wax

Well, I'm having trouble picking out a polish. My car DOES have some minor swirl marks and visible scratches in the sun. However, out of the sun the finish looks pretty good.

My question is...do I need to get two polishes...a "polish" and a swirl remover polish? Or just one? I really wouldn't know where to start.

Also...for my Sealant...I was thinking about getting Meguiar's 21. Will that be good or are there better options out there?

  1. McGuire's or mothers liquid gold either one does really good on a black paint job without leaving streaks in it,that's the only two brands of wax i use now days on any paint job,we own a dark green car and that's the only kind i can use that wont leave streaks in it,good luck.

  2. I use all MeGuires products on my black car, for scratches and swirl marks I use their detailing spray polish and a buffer and then I wax the car with the tech wax.

  3. Try VaporWax.

Its an acrylic paint conditioner that is designed for Black automotive acrylic paint.

Wax will only add to the problems of swirl marks and scratches.

Its outdated by todays standards. Only the die hards still insist on buffing and waxing a car with acrylic paint.

That was fine for enamel paint but acrylic is a different animal.

VaporWax is a non abrasive pure liquid conditioner that produces a long lasting brilliant shine instantly.
