  1. A face primer is one of the best ways to insure your makeup stays on longer, they're relatively new products so few drugstore brands make primers. They pamper the skin and create a protective barrier. Primers are excellent for people with combination to oily skin. Just apply after moisterizer and let it sink into the skin for a few minutes, and carry on with your regular foundation routine. The primer should last 1-2 months in the container.

    Many high-end brands carry primers

    NARS Makeup Primer

MAC Prep and Prime (I use and recommend)

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (I use and recommend)

    Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time

    Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

Lorac aquaPRIME Oil Free Makeup Primer

Sephora Professionnel Perfection Makeup Base (I use and recommend)

SheSieDo Makeup Sheer Enhancer Base SPF15

    Some drugstore

Sally Hansens Lumizing Foundation Primer (I use and recommend)

Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel (use and recommend)

Rimmel London Recover Perfect Skin Primer

Revlon Age Defying Instant Firming Face Primer

Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer (I use and recommend)

Revlon Vital Radiance Smoothing Face Primer

  2. primer?

  3. smashbox's photofinishes seem to be the most popular primer nowadays, especially the regular formula and green-tinged one that "counteracts redness" (does nothing in my opinion). sephora-brand makes a great one that's almost exactly like the photofinish but much cheaper. some people swear by laura mercier's primer which is oil-free and an opaque white, but i prefer the more silky finish of a primer with dimethicone like photofinish, bare escentual's primetime, make up for ever's all mat, etc.

another hidden gem is lorac's aquaprime.. it feels very water-y on the skin at first, but after applying it for a few seconds, it makes skin SO unbelievably soft and smooth and perfectly primed for foundation.

there are also some tinted primers, like clinique's pore minimizer and philosophy's the supernatural, which feel amazing on the skin and give it a slight tint.. everytime i use them, my pores just disappear.

you can expect any high-end primer to be around $20-40, depending on the brand and any special components it might have (anti-agers, vitamins, etc.)
