What type of procedures do child psychologists undergo in counseling a young person?

I speak specifically of young people who have recently committed some sort of crime. Is it protocol for the psychologist assigned to them to enter a cell or a holding room or what? If anyone out there has any knowledge of the field, tell me what you can about the process.

  1. I have dealt with some young criminals, but not in an institutional setting.  I assume the procedures would be the same as in a clinical setting.  Thee are rooms for that sort of things in institutions.
