My son was playing at school and wanted to play with another child that was already playing with someone, so he spit on the other child...he knows he was wrong...but the time out that the school gave him I don't think is enough...I want something that he will not do this again!

  1. give him at least 3 hard pats on the butt, and tell him if he ever spits on anyone again that you will give him 4 MORE spanks on the butt.

  2. take away privleges.

  3. So punish him twice? I would just make sure he is very clear on how not to do it, and what the consequences will be.

  4. You should not double punish your child. You should not punish him anyways.  You should discipline him. The school dealt with the situation already so leave it alone.  Do not put soap in his mouth or anything like that. It is child abuse!

  5. A good hard spanking coupled with a timeout and the loss of his favorite toy.

  6. This is definately something you need to decide on your own as a parent. You already should have discipline in place with child. I would at a minimum wash mouth with hot sauce or soap, take away toys/priviledges and a good old fashioned spanking never hurt any child along with a firm lecture on expected, accepted behavior.  Of course he knows he was wrong, he sounds like he thought he could get away with it, or is bullying other children.  He needs to be taught some rules and what is aceptable behavior, as spitting is not.

  7. jalapeno in the mouth. that'll do it.

no, seriously what do you think should be done? everytime my son does something i disagree with i try to go with what i FEEL is right. i don't ever hit or spank my son or any kid for that matter. instead i talk to him in a firm and convincing voice. look him straight in the eye and let him know that i will not accept his bad behavior. one of my most common punishments is to take away a toy or a privilege.

    good luck.

  8. Take something away from him that he likes or likes to do, such as a favorite toy, activity or television show, maybe for a week...tell him if if he behaves he can have it back.

  9. I got to say, that this time when I would actually be okay with the  soap in mouth punishment.  He is doing it with his mouth he should get punished with his mouth than.

  10. You should paddle his butt. People do not give me thumbs down. He probably will not do it again if he feels you paddling him. That is my advice.

  11. Don't do the washing-out-his-mouth thing, that's cruel and he won't understand the connection to what he did. I would sit him down and tell him that spitting is very offensive and could get him in real trouble. Tell him that the next time he does that he will be punished (having a toy taken away or his bottom spanked, whichever is your choice of discipline).

  12. Mine would get a spanking. I strongly disagree with those who say that the punishment at school was enough and he should not be punished again at home. When I was growing up the rule was get in trouble at school you really get it when you get home. And the punishment at home was always much worse than the school punishment. One time I even got paddled at school--but the spanking I got at home with a hairbrush on my bare butt really drove the point home.

Now that I am the parent--I have the same policy.

  13. You can do any of the following

    1) Give him a good spanking

    2) Ground him

    3) Make him stand in the corner with his nose touching the wall

    4) Take away a favorite toy or a privlidge

  14. Wash his mouth out with soap? It kind of fits the crime.

  15. Despite what others are saying, spanking is not the answer.

It will only teach your child aggression.

Make him sit on a time-out step..

    It will work, trust me.

  16. SPANK him believe me it works or i don't know if this is wrong or not but spit on him and show him how bad and nasty it is  then maybe he'll stop
