Question:

What type of rays come from the sun?

I know that a lot of different types of rays come from the sun, like UV, and Gamma, etc... These different rays can penetrate different levels. I kinda remember hearing something about one of the rays from the sun that can actually go through a couple feet of concrete. I dont really remember much else about it. I was wondering if anyone else knows what these rays are called, and exactly how much they can penetrate. Thanks.

  1. solar rays

  2. The sun, like any star, emits electromagnetic radiation in all wavelengths, from radio to xrays.

Infrared can heat rock, water, and concrete and that could penetrate a few feet of concrete.

But solid objects (concrete, rock, etc.) generally stop almost all EM radiation.
