I want dish network. The people that lived in the house before us had DN, they left the Dish itself and the DP34 switchbox. So instead of signing up for new service and having to buy all the stuff, what brand or code recievers do I need? Does there have to be a card in the reciever? Any info would help. And am I right by saying once I get the recievers, just run the coaxle from the switchbox into the recievers, and call DN for service? Thanks for the help

  1. You will need DP (Dish Pro) or DPP receivers, if you use a legacy rec. you will need an adaptor. You would probably be better off ordering service from Dish. Most cases they will give you a free professional install with new equipment. Regardless of what you do, you will still have to go through Dish to have receivers activated. As for cards in the receivers, it depends on what type of receiver you use and how old it is.
