  1. a Japanese Restaurant..  Usually a sushi or Hibachi kind.

  2. Chinies

  3. Oriental

  4. i don't really get your question

but i'd go with asian or oriental.

NOT chinese, that's a whole other nationality.

  5. "The Japanese restaurant" is a restaurant of food from Japan.  The person who said it was Chinese has absolutely no idea what they are talking about because Japan and China are 2 very different countries (in fact, many Chinese folks still harbor ill will towards the Japanese because of atrocities committed during the war).

Japanese cuisine can be very varied and can include things like sushi, teriyaki beef/pork/chicken, rice, miso soup etc.  Most "japanese" foods americans are used to seeing do not even begin to scratch the surface as far as Japanese cuisine goes.

You could also say Japanese restaurants are "asian" or "oriental" but that is not saying much because  all of the many cultures in that tag/group have very different tastes and flavors.

Whether you go to a korean, chinese, vietnamese, laotian, japanese, thai, east indian or philipino restaurant you will ALWAYS find that although they are all asian cuisines, the food is drastically different.  Even within east indian circles you will find a huge and different variety of foods.  Toss the labels aside, that's old paradigm.

  6. You can call it Asain restaurant, but really, just call it Japanese restaurant. Asian cooking's different in each culture, don't combine it and just say Asain.

  7. Japaneese is from Japan....
