It's just in the planning stages- but I have a friend who wants me to prepare him a business plan for my best restaurant idea. This is fine with me, as I am a Chef, and this is what I do; however, I want to explore all ideas and options (i.e. locations, type of food, clientele, etc.) Any of your insight, restaurant dreams, favorite foods are much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. NONE

  2. My dream restaurant, which would probably never fly, is a small breakfast and lunch place serving non-industrial food: cage-free eggs, hormone-free meats, grass-fed beef, vegetarian selections, entree salads, local produce, free trade coffee, wholegrain baked goods...

I like the idea of doing breakfast and lunch because I could have my evenings free. Unfortunately, there's more money to be made at dinner, which is why in real life I run a lunch and dinner place instead  :-)

  3. well ?? I will own river brooks in milwukee, because it is mostly peaceful there and you can have nice delisous foods that you want there.

  4. A small Creperie where there are all different kinds of crepes, savory, sweet, hearty, breakfast. All kinds. Like.... mmmm, spinach-cream crepes with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Crepes are delicious and you could cater as a crepe stand, or sit-down restaurant.

  5. somewhere not to cheap not to expensive, just right..

like everyday meal place like fast food so everybody would come to just to fill their stomach you know?

  6. Do what you do best and make it affordable and tasty.

  7. I would like to own a really gourmet, four star, expensive restaurant. The tables would be in little houses that were actually rafts floating on a silvery pool filled with golden seaweed and dolphins and silvery fish that are beautiful. Then when the food comes it is served on a dish that looks like a silver leaf and is really super duper extra special yummy and all the good food critiques love it. That is my dream.

    - My friend, not me.

  8. My boyfriend and I talk about this all the time. We would LOVE to see a restaurant open that actually serves healthy food. Low fat, nothing processed or fried. I know it can be done, it's just a matter of cost and motivation. With childhood obesity getting out of control and America being the heaviest country, I think we need more family restaurants that focus on eating healthy without compromising quality. Why is that asking so much???

  9. Personally, I'd have a menu like a favorite restaurant in Indy: Loon Lake Lodge. They feature unusual cuisine. Bison meatloaf, REAL snake bites (snake meat in a flaky coating), fresh river trout and salmon. They are all prepared in a variety of styles so there's always something for everyone. Of course, the decor is a hunting/fishing lodge. They prices aren't cheap but with the food selection, would you expect it to be?

  10. a successful one .
