  1. that depends on a lot of things...starting with tank size and fish keeping experience.....Most saltwater fish need a tank larger then 30 gallons and many fish are expert keeper only, if you have some experience and a 30+ gallon size tank you can have clowns, damsels (many are very aggressive)  wrasse, some basslets or gobys, http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/aquar...

there are lots of fish and its required care on this page, just browse and see what you like, but start with your tank size, get it setup and cycled, then start worrying about the fish you can keep in the tank size you have.

  2. For the best looks and temperment, I'd say Tangs, clownfish, Mandrainfish. But you have to have expeience.

  3. Hello guys and gals, this question refers to what type of saltwater fish should he get, not anything about experience or how he should take care of the fish.

Anyways, to the asker, It really depends on how big your tank is, because some species get pretty large, and if you don't have a large enough tank for the certain species, the lifespan of that particular fish will be cut short due to lack of swimming spaces. It also depends on how much rock or decorations that you put inside of your aquarium.

Researching marine aquariums through wikipedia or about.com will help you gather information. However, that information doesn't tell you what types of fish that you can get. So, I'm going to help you out here.

For example, let's say that your tank is 100 gallons, you can put trigger fishes, although if you plan to put clownfishes, I wouldn't recommend triggerfishes because they'll eat the clownfishes. If you are a beginner and don't know much about marine ich or other diseases, I would not recommend tangs. Butterflyfishes and Angelfishes is pretty hard to upkeep, but if you know what you are doing, you can make it happen.

Damsels are the easiest along with clownfishes to take care of. They're hardy, however, you must take note, some damselfishes are very aggressive, and they'll nip and pick at fins at will. So you must research on what types of damsels that you should get. The peaceful damsels that are not aggressive is the Green Chromis.

You can mix aggressive fishes up with peaceful fishes, but you have to monitor them, so if you don't know what you are doing, don't do this.

But Clownfishes has their own aggressive, the maroon clownfish and the tomato clownfish is the most aggressive out of all of them. the Sebae clownfish can be aggressive against one of their own.

Wrasses are pretty stable, they're not as aggressive as some people say. However, the Christmas Wrasse and the Harlequin tusk is the most aggressive out of all the wrasses. But be careful though, they do have teeth, and they will eat invertebrates.

Anyways, I hope that this helps, thanks for asking.....................

  4. this depends on your experience if you have less than 10 years of experience i dont recomend getting them because i doubt you even have experience if you are asking this question. stick with freshwater and do your research.

  5. Well, if your asking that type question- maybe you should stick to freshwater.

To keep saltwater fish healthy and alive for an extended amount of time requires work and dedication from the aquarist and that can quickly become a chore and not a fun hobby if you don't love it... and we all like to slack off our chores.

Do some digging and find a fish that YOU like, not a fish that I say I like and keep because I doubt pipefish are in anyway right for you.You might want to start your search with damsel fish, they are a good saltwater starter fish.

  6. clownfish...they r cool....
