What type of sand do I use for our sand filter?

We need to change the sand in our sand filter for our pool. It is a 25,000 gallon pool that is just green right now and needs new sand. What type do we use? Is there a special kind?

any pool supply store will have it-its filtered sand clean of impurities

There is a specific type of sand specifically for pool filters.  It is a fine #20 silica and can be found at pool stores and possibly the pool section of lowes or walmart.
