I have no idea what i want to do when i graduate from high school. My parents think i would be a good physical therapist. But i don't know what collages specialize in physcial therapy. And how many years of that schooling you need. And if you need medical school aswell. If you have any info please tell me.

  1. There is a complete list of accredited schools at www.apta.org

In the US, PTs graduating at this day and age are required to complete their master's or doctorate level degree (DPT).  There are still some MPT level programs left, but the majority are now DPT programs.

When you go to college, you will most likely need to complete a bachelor's degree and take the required courses for the graduate PT programs...this involves a lot of biology, chemistry, physics, etc.

You do not need medical school, only to go to an accredited PT program.

In all, this process usually takes 6-7 years of college.

  2. Since you helped me, I will help you..

My dad is a PT, so I asked him to help me with this.

Many colleges specialize in Physical Therapy. My dad started out in Rutgers, and then went on to Jefferson for Graduate School. He is attending Boston University for his Doctorate Degree 20 years later.I would recommend going for You Dr Degree to because they are making PT's get there docter degrees in the near future. He was in school for 4 years i think. Not sure.
