  1. Good for you, I want to do the same. I think you would go to a vet school, and major in Biology in Collage.

  2. Most marine mammal rehab networks work on a volunteer basis. No one really gets paid. Even the vets at the stranding network here in Texas have other jobs. All you need is a desire to work. I'm not certain of any that do pay, if you find one, you may want to check with them to see what they require. It is doubtful that you need vet school, unless they are in need of a vet or a vet-tech.  If any do have a permanent position, experience is likely to be a factor, even moreso than education.

  3. I work for a marine mammal release and stranding group. Most of the jobs are summer employment for students. Sadly these groups don't get a lot of funding to take on full time employees and some can't afford to pay employees.

Science and Marine biology is a big plus. Although this is my third year working with the group and I'm a history major.

Start looking into rescues now you may be able to get involved at the student level.
