  1. Sushi Nori. Nori (seaweed) that is made specifically for making Sushi. They come in half or whole sheets. Usually, they are already roasted, but I like to re-roast them (simply pass over an open flame) to bring out the flavor and crispness. I buy mine online at Japan Super. Look under the Sushi category.

  2. nori. but any type is fine.

  3. As was said, Nori. Check the instructions, if it hasn't been toasted already, you need to toast it before using for sushi. Just run it close to an open flame.

  4. I am a former chef with 27 years experience. I was trained at the New York Institute of Culinary Arts. I am an educator extraordinaire and have worked at major hotels. I am a certified small kitchen appliance reviewer and am practiced at both Asian and European Cuisines. Believe it or not, I have cooked for the military and in 4 star restaurants. I am a fully trained pastry chef, as well, as well as a saucier. I noticed your little problem and have deigned to help you. I'm sorry. What was the question again?

Of course, the nori must be raw. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  5. Nori.

  6. nori seaweed.

however its normally baked and pressed into that thin, crispy kind of wafers you find.

Just buy a pack. They're normally sold at import shops.

  7. The seaweed that wraps sushi rolls is called in Japanese

    Nori  ÃƒÂ£Ã‚Â®Ã¦ÂµÂ·Ã¨Â—»

You can find it in just about ANY Asian market, and a lot of major supermarket chains now carry it......Whole Foods has it in stock most of the time.....Very low calorie, you can even use it for snacking on......If you're attempting to make sushi for the first time, I would start with something that is relatively inexpensive, like imitation crab and cucumber rolls.....That way, you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on a 65 dollar piece of Ahi tuna on your first attempt....Good luck!!!

  8. Nori.

Sushi can take the form of fingers of rice topped with raw or cooked fish, or even sweetened omelet, or it can be cone-shaped rolls of nori (a type of seaweed) filled with jewel-toned fish eggs and veggies.
