  1. USAID is not a branch of the Military, it is an independent government organization.  The website says "USAID is an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. Our Work supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives.

As far as clearances go it all depends on the job you are applying for relevent to what the access to classified information is.  For example, some jobs with the "Department of Defense" dont require any type of security clearance due to the particular nature, while others require a TS.

  2. Ask them, they have a web site that you can go to.

  3. since usaid is a wing of the us military it depends on the job. the fbi site has info on security clearance but the first post has the info as well. have you been on thier website. most of those jobs required you be a us citizen for starters with a clean record.

  4. Here a link to a job (below) and what it says regarding clearance:

"Entrance on duty is contingent upon completion of a pre-employment security investigation."
