  1. I've been playing volleyball since i was 11 and I'm 18 so when i started out i would wear women's running shoes shorts I prefer spandex or soffe shorts did they give you a shirt? well if your just going to practice were a cotton tank. (remember knee pads) improving.... going to practice or going out side and have someone pass you the ball or hit at you.

  2. Just practice but don't take it too seriously if you're not that into it. I'm constantly telling my coach that basketball is better, but everyone has fun on my team. Just wear comfortable clothing and make sure your hair is up out of your face. If your team isn't too serious then just ask someone to show you the proper bumping, setting, serving and hitting moves and everything. JUST HAVE FUN!

  3. inside vball..i wear spandex & my club shirt. my knee pads, & my hair is always up & nike running shoes

  4. shoes: running shoes/sneakers

    clothes: T-shirt and shorts (loose)

hair: tied up (in a ponytail)

improve your playing by practicing. ask your coach for more tips.

  5. well we wear court shoes they have volleyball shoes but you have to order them from a catlog usally. we wear spandex that way when you roll your shorts don't come down. a tee is all you need!!! DON'T FORGET SPORTS BRA!!!! very imporant!! you should pull you hair back.

  6. first lets talk about clothing......you need spandex because they are breathable and really easy to move in and any t-shirt would do for practicing, but try not to make the shirt huge. You also need a pair of court shoes that can be found at any sporting goods store and a nice pair of kneepads. If you like, you can add long socks to you uniform, but they are usually not necessary.

    improving your play.....

you just need to always be touching a ball. When you have some free time just go outside with a partner and practice your bumping and setting. And always go to practices; you will improve so much. If you really want to go above and beyond, you can always strength train at the gym!

  7. I've been playing volleyball for 5 years now. You need some court shoes that have "jelly" soles. Talk to a sales person at a sporting goods store for these, they'll know what you're talking about.

You need a pair of spandex; these improve movment and such on the court. They make playing a lot easier because you don't have to worry about your shorts bunching up and such.

Kneepads are a must. You will definitely injure your knees if you dive and do a floor move for the ball without them. They are essential to the game.

Knee Socks are also needed. These also help prevent court burns. Plus, they are probably required for your team.

Many people need ankle braces, but if you are just starting out, don't worry about it. They support your ankles so that they don't get twisted or anything. One thing to be wary of is that after you wear them, your ankles get weaker, so you will need to wear the braces all  the time.

I would also buy a big sports bag to keep your stuff in.

You may also want to buy a volleyball so you can practice.

I have many books talking about strategies of the game as well, these might be beneficial to you.

This link will take you to a site that will show you what the essentials look like and what they are, if you're not sure.

To improve your play: you just need to practice. Talk with your coach to learn the drills that can be done by yourself, so you can do them at home. Maybe get together with some friends or girls on your team and play/practice. It's even a possibility that your coach will give you some one-on-one pracitce time if you ask her/him. You just need to keep touching the ball and practicing by passing it up to yourself repeatedly. Set the ball against a wall, as well as hit it against a wall. Bottom line: PRACTICE AND KEEP ON PRACTICING!!!!!

P.S. Work out your abs to get a strong core, everything in this sport relies on a very strong core. Work out your legs and arms as well.

    Good Luck!!!!!

  8. shoes: running shoes or a specified volleyball shoe.

clothes: spandex shorts and a loose tshirt

equipment: if you have weak ankles get ankle supports and knee pads definatly. also get a gym bag

Improvements: work out your legs and abs. it helps so much

    Good Luck!

  9. shoes: air shoes,runners,

    clothing:loseshorts

    hair:in a ponie

well practis bumbing, spikes, and the other things or even ask the coach for help.

    thats what i did

  10. You'll need breast implants and a tiny bikini.

  11. first i need the coach and then i follow the rules

  12. shoes that most people wear are called "court shoes" you can find them at ***** sporting goods. my team always wears spandex to games but you will have to ask your coach. spandex can also be found at *****. kneepads are wonderful! everyone wears kneepads but you may already know that. as for getting better just practice makes perfect is what i've found, in volleyball and in other sports. hope this helps. have a great season.

  13. the best tights are Mizunos, the best shoes are asics, and any type of knee pads as long as they cover your entire knee. You dont want to wear lose shorts because of all the hand and arm movement you do, you can end up tearing your shorts. Its alot easier to move in the tights too. To get better, go to camps or practice.

  14. great!!! i love volleyball. i play for 4 travel teams. firts is clothing. you whant to go for spandex becuase it is easy to move in and it is very breathable becuase your gonna be moving quite alot. if you feel uncomphortable in spandex go for some sophies(cheerleader shorts) and a cropped sleeve t-shirt. (the shorter the sleeve the easyer to move) for your shoes go with some sleek tenis shoes. you dont whant bulky shoes becuase they will get in the way. NEVER get ankle shoes for volleyball becuase in volleyball you have to constantly stay on your toes and that will cuase a strain if you wear ankle shoes. BUT, if you have week ankles just wear a brace and not an ankle shoe.

to imove your playing just practice. for serving- get infront of a brick wall. mesure wich brick your head in on then count 5 bricks higher. stand five feet away and hit the ball agains the way aiming at that brick. when you toss to serve make sure it lands in front of your shoulder. if it goes any ware else if will not go over the net. for your serving foot work..if you are right handed put your left foot in front. for setting- make sure when you go up to set the ball is directly over you. when you hold your hands to set you whant to make a diamond by putting your thumbs and pointer fingers together. remember when you set you whant a light touch. it is all in the legs. for spiking it is truely up to your coach. there are many ways to spike. talk to your coach and see wich one is right for you. for passing (bumping)- you wana keep your butt down. and your right foot slightly infront of the other. and you want your shoulders down!!!!!! and the way you hold your hands is one again up to the coach. dont be afriad to talk to your coach. they like it wwhen you ask them questions becuase it is a sighn that you whant to learn and you whant to ge t better. i promice they wont bite your head off. lol.

  15. Shoes and clothes are just kind of gym clothes and shoes.  So, t-shirt, shorts, sneakers (they have volleyball court shoes, but any sort of sneakers work well, I like using running shoes or basketball shoes).  And improvement comes with practice, doing a lot of drills and such.  Work hard on the court, and you'll get better.  Let me know if you need any more tips.  Having someone to practice with helps a lot too.  Don't be afraid to ask questions either, coaches don't really expect people to know everything, so they'd rather you ask then go out on the court clueless.

  16. best way to improve your play is to play more.  watch other people and slowly pick up pointers from them
