Im going to an introductory ballroom dance class for 25mins today. hopefully i will get into it and register for real classes. but i need a shoe, the lady said anything but rubber bottoms and no flipflops. Im not sure if i will be any good at dancing with high heels but i just i have to get used to it. is there any other shoe i can wear? or should i stick with a high heel and what kind?

  1. sued bottoms are good.  You don't have to buy what they have for sale at the studio.  you can find perfectly good discount shoes for over half the price online or at an outlet store.  I bought mine at  Allaboutdance.com.  I started with the practice shoe and it was only about $26.00 plus S&H.  there are more out there, just have to look :)

  2. She meant what she said. Flats will be fine for beginner classes. The only things you need worry about are the soles/heels (rubber won't allow you to turn and spin without risking injury) and the back (you don't want to have to spend the entire class scrunching your toes to keep yourself from walking out of the shoes). Wear what you have, and when you're ready, you'll have a much better idea of the Latin and Standard shoes you'll want.
