  1. A wet, dirty signal.

    A blue laser does well under murkey watery conditions.

    Also, sonar signals.

    And electrical impulses can go a limited distance.

  2. electromagnetic waves/ radio waves/ ground penetrating radar/

    sonar.

    I have no idea what the guy above is talking about. Ultra sound is hands on , not long distance.

  3. It hasn't been discovered yet, but how about a gravity wave signal.

  4. i want to add to check in here;

  5. Well it could be electrical if the water is present, but not for long distances. But the most common it would be the (infra or ultra)sound. That would work well even for few hundred yards depending on the frequency. On some point you should put the emitter of modulated sound form and on the other the receiver tuned for the same wave form. A decoder should do the transformation from digital to audio/video.

    Never heard to be tested, but hope to work ;)

    Good luck

  6. ULF (Ultra low frequency) signals.  It's what elephants use to communicate over long distances.

  7. Yes, it can be done electrically like a radio signal set for 76 Hz- its how the US Navy contacts submarines.

  8. sound waves
