Question:

What type of snowboards does the Whitetail Resort in PA use?

I'm trying to find out what type of boards Whitetail uses because I really enjoyed the board I got last weekend and want to get one.

It was a Burton board, and had the letters 'LTR' sideways on the top, and also, I believe, it said 'MO16' or 'MI16' on it. It had two straps for bindings, one that went across the toe and one that went across. I'm interested in purchasing a board like this, any help on the Name of board would be appreciated!

Also, I'm 5'10"-5'11", what's the best length to get?

  1. Ski and Board companies have special rental lines that aren't available in stores.  Chances are, the board is a rental board that you will only find at rental shops.  You can call the mountain and ask them what kind of board it is.

All boards have bindings and they are sold separately from the board.

Whitetail resort's phone number is 717-328-9400

  2. call whitetail whitetail.com

I was going to say Burton cause I've been there b4 but how do you think someone is going to know that offhand?

  3. This Burton board is the LTR board. The LTR board stands for Learn to Ride. These boards are specifically designed to help beginners learn faster. The edges are rounded so you dont get caught on the snow and do faceplants like many beginners do. Almost all resorts use these boards. Either this or the Burton Cruzer. and you can only find them at resorts.

You cant buy this board anywhere except maybe from end of the season used board sales by the resort. Rental bindings are probably not the best choice. They usually use the Burton Progression bindings, which, again, is for beginners and its the very basic parts of a binding. And again, you wont be able to find these bindings anywhere except from end of the season used sales.

Again this setup is probably not the best out there and i find them very uncomfortable, they use to hurt my feet alot. I would suggest getting a new board. If you Like the LTR board because of the rounded edges, you can take a new board to a shop and have them detune it.

For board length, 156-160 should be the right sizes for you.
