When I was 2 years 1 month old I had a volcabulary of about 1,500 words but by the time I was 3 it went down to 500. I had to get speech therapy and learn words all over again. The therapist said I will have this disorder for the rest of my life but now ten years later on it is not severe enough to be an actual problem so I don't have therapy anymore. My mother told me it was just a speech disorder but she forgets what it was called. Does anyone know the name of any speech problem like this?

  1. Sounds like something on the Autism Spectrum or perhaps Child Disintegrative Disorder.  You can have an ASD and be perfectly "normal."  Other mild dymptoms include sloppy handwriting, sensory issues like sound or light sensitivity, being a very picky eater, OCD-like symptoms, having to conciously work hard to make friends or fit in in social situations, having a very strong interest in something (for my son, it is scorpions)

  2. Could be some sort of brain damage or mild autism/asperger's

This is one of the symptoms of autism/asperger's.

That's all I can think of.
