Ok well you see I found this spider and I guess he or she is more tan than brown, but either way it is tan with a black hourglass on its abdomen. It also spins a pretty large web. I am going to try and get a picture of it but I went and it was gone I think it only comes out at night and I can't get a picture at night from my hallway because there is a glare from the light, but I will try my best.

  1. OK I might have found something

I researched and some thought it could be a juvenile form of a black widow (since those differ to adults). But I found something interesting.

It might not be a black widow at all! There are 2 possibilities: the Barn Spider or another kind of Orb Weaver spider. (both from the orb weaver family)

I got pics and links. If the pics match the spider you have seen then question answered if not, then I hope you find the answer you're looking for.

  2. Yeah the hour glass suggests a black widow but the hour glass is red and on females so maybe a male black widow.

  3. Someone else described a spider like that.  I would like to see a picture.

Here are a variety of widows.
