  1. the thing is, there are so very many sprays you could use for grapes but which ones to use vary so much. it depends on what kind of grapes u have and where u live.

i, personally, wouldn't spray for anything because i go organic. but this is a big year for wilts/fungal infections (things that proliferate in moist weather), so if i ever was going to spray, this year's reports would have inspired me to do so.

so, the way to find out about spraying for your variety and area is to check your nearest Extension Office or agricultural college. They will know the climate and what bug populations are prevalent<<to spray for disease and bugs, sometimes u have to time it EXACTLY right. like a certain bug may be vulnerable only 10 days out of the year. or a certain disease prevention spray will only be able to be applied during certain weather or at certain stages of growth. Your growth rate, weather and bug activity is likely to be sufficiently different from a grower in a diiferent county that the spray days or the recommended variety of spray will vary. so the county extension offices record/disseminate this info.

you might get lucky and find it with one or two yahoo searches. use your county or state, and then "grapes" and "fact sheet".

if no luck, then just find your nearest extension office:

    http://ipmguidelines.org/grapes/content/...

Once there u are likely to have to navigate quite a bit. if u find the pages about grape pests and disease, then u will have to see what they recommend. it is likely that a few of the sprays will be optional depending on whether your grape is susceptible to that disease/pest.

here is a place to see what types of grapes are susceptible to what:

    http://www.canr.msu.edu/vanburen/gdtab1....

in addition to them being susceptible to certain pests, some grapes are sensitive to/can be harmed by certain sprays; sulphur and copper. both are common ingredients in sprays>so if ur variety is sensitive to it then u do not want to spray unless the danger of the pest outweighs the danger of the spray.

if it all seems frustrating to figure or if ur area does not have good fact sheets, then see if ur state has a master gardener program to ask:

    http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/CoopExt/4...

if u ever DID have to wrestle a plan together urself, then here is a list of what is used for what and when. it's just a long list:

    http://ipmguidelines.org/grapes/content/...

it would be possible to use that link to compare a suggested spray against<<i mean oftentimes people and websites/books get things wrong. sad but true. it happens a little less at gov sites. so once u get a plan i am just saying that if u wanted, u could compare that plan to the facts on that previous page, cause i doubt they are wrong.

auxillary option>>u can get some advice from folks in ur area. like here is a viticulture forum for the U.K.:

    http://www.viticulture.co.uk/

so u could find one if u search viticulture, forum and ur area name (like county/state/nickname).

u can do the same to find a local general "gardening forum". but here is one to start if u like that sort of thing:

    http://www.helpfulgardener.com/phpBB2/

    which i do.

where to find spray>>at home supply super stores and at plant supply/nurseries.

ps - maybe u know this but one thing i head about grape culture was not to supplement with phosphorus fertilizer.
