I heard that stretches where you hold the stretch are bad before exercise and that you should do like high knees and lunges instead

  1. high knees and lunges are good after a work out to re stretch.......before a work out do splits and butter fly sits and back bends.....to warm up the muscles.

  2. well, i've played more than 12 sports till now. well, i found it's different from one to the other. well, most sports that includes alot of running, you better hold your strectches. well, also, from my own experience. you better do all you stretches on the ground not from a moving postion. i mean you need to be still and also. when you stretch never straight your knee all the way. when you do stretches on your back make sure that your tail bone is touching the ground otherwise, you will get back-ache. so, i wish you gd luck and i hope that i've helped

  3. you should do like a short light jog to loosen the muscles up a little and then run through a stretching routine. it's probably best to hold the stretches for about 15 seconds, but you can repeat them, just give the muscles breaks in between stretches. also, when you go 'down' into a stretch, don't bounce, just stay firm and hold it for the 15 seconds.

  4. that is incorrect after many times playing soccer i found that if i didn't hold a stretch i became really sore afterwards but high knees and lunges are a good element to add to your stretching
